
They are life-sized. They can be top hung like the A-bomb pelican shown below. Or they can be mounted to rotate on a pole three metres in the air – like the wedge tail eagle, and the sea eagle also shown here.
They move and fly on a bearing. This means they can be viewed from a different perspective each time they turn in the wind.
I use mother of pearl taken from the modern day middens in the hills behind my place, to build heads and other details like the fish carried by the sea eagle pictured.
The birds are also available in less-detailed and lower-priced production models than those shown here.
Each bird I make is unique. Made so by changes in my thoughts and perspective - and the different parts I have on hand at the time.
Detailed prototypes such as those shown here can be made on commission only – unless I have one in stock. This is because they take about ten days; a lot of creative energy and hundreds of cuts and welds to make.
Each of my birds carries the trademark off-the-leash broken chain shown here.
Fitting kits can be supplied to make it easier to fly these birds in your garden.
